<< I dream, I test my dreams against my beliefs, I dare to take risks, and I execute my vision to make those dreams come true. (Walt Disney)
Dear Future Ex-Colleagues
By now, everyone will know that I am leaving the company (today, Friday February 4th, was my last day). And I guess by now everyone has at least heard some kind of rumors why – I will be going on a 1600-miles-pilgrimage. Some may think I am ‘just a little crazy’ and some may even think worse – it doesn’t matter. To me this is something I wanted to do for a very long time. The difference between visionaries and dreamers is that visionaries make the dreams come true. So I guess I am more of a visionary.
We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon and never try to reach it. Most people tend to put off living anyhow. I had the chance to learn how to turn a dream into a wish, a wish into a goal and than plan how and when to achieve it. I learned dreams do come true - but like everything they are not for free. One has to sacrifice other things in life for it. I myself did just that, hung on to my dream, worked hard and am now ready to seek this adventure. I am looking forward to see a lot, learn more, and grow.
Working in OSLG was a good training for my pilgrimage – and I have (at least most of the time =) enjoyed working at the Lowes store in Livingston. I thank those who did me wrong for I learned to strengthen my humbleness and I thank those who supported me in my work so that I was not afraid to be strong.. I thank those who guided and encouraged me when I wanted to give up on the job and I thank those who challenged me when I was too confident. Last but not least I thank those who envied me, for they made me interesting and of course those who ignored me, for they made me interesting too …
If you would like to keep in touch I can be reached at my personal email address (although of course in the next 4 month I will only have access to my mailbox very occasionally – the laptop is way to heavy to carry it in my backpack.
I wish everyone a good life, stand up for your dreams, and don’t let them slip away or get buried under daily tasks - and never take anything for granted!
Remember, if you can dream it, you can do it!
